1. Project Overview
The project is an important part of “Two Longitudinal Highways” in Anhui Expressway Network Plan for “Four Longitudinal and Eight Transverse Highways”. It is a twin-tower, four-cable-plane, cable-stayed bridge of separated steel box girder with a fully floating system, its span layout being 100m+308m+806m+308m+100m and an overall length totaling 1,622m. Its main beam is flat closed, streamlined orthotropic plate steel box girder, with its beam body built in a separated, double-girder form. Its main tower, in a form of single pillar pier, uses cushion caps and pile group foundation at its bottom.
2. Technical Features and Innovative Points
1) 3D digital design technology adopted for visual display of the complex construction, which can also improve design accuracy and contribute to precise design.
2) Twin-tower and four-cable-plane structure adopted, with the pillar divided into two segments from the middle, displaying a novel and beautiful shape.
3) The homodromous rotary cable system adopted for the anchorage of the inhaul cable.
4) T-shaped single-column cantilever structure adoptd for abutment pier, which not only reduces the workload of underwater foundation, cuts down the cost, but also produces a concise and elegant shape.
5) Separated steel box girders adopted for the main beam, with baseplate of double side-boxes in a curved shape, resulting a good aerodynamic performance, and reasonable beam size and spacing, displaying an attractive appearance.
6) Researches on key technologies in separated-beamed, cable-stayed bridge with an extra-large span.
7) Researches on key technologies in the application of homodromous rotary cable system.
